Firefighters rescue Guinea Pig, chief warns of manpower shortage

Here is the new 2 level C&C (cubes and choroplast) cage that I made for my 4 pigs. After several cages I finally have all the features I want in one cage, at least until I change my mind. lol. Both levels have a loft and a 2 grid side that folds down for cleaning. The cages themselves are 2×3 grids. The underneath has plenty of storage and the entire thing is on wheels so I can easily move it to sweep. The lower level cage have no grids on the front or side so that I (and the kids) have easier access to reach in. I used metal shelving supports to make the cage sturdy and allow for the open front design. I use fleece and towels (custom sewn into liner pads) for bedding. These get changed and washed twice a week. Each cage has a potty pan as well, which the girls use almost exclusively and the boys are hit and miss with. I found the fleece is much cheaper and keeps the smell down to a minimum. As in, the onyl thing you smell is the timothy hay.
