Hey there! Here are some tips and tricks to getting your guinea pig more used to you. Remember, all guinea pigs are unique and have different personalities. Some like to be handled and some just don’t so never try to force your pet to do something they do not want to do. Mousie (brown and white) and Winne (brown and fluffy) do not like to be picked up no matter what I try…so I only do it when I have to (when I cut their nails…ect). Mop (the peruvian) on the other hand is an angel when it comes to lap time. Guinea pigs are prey animals. This means that they are easily scarred by fast movement and loud noises. No matter how tame they are…they will still get startled from time to time. Remember to be patient as taming does not happen overnight. Most of all remain positive!

nice pants lol
@TheGuineaPigHangOut you can sitting next to the cage, just reading a book or something so then can first get used to having you around. Do that for a day or two and then try giving them vegetables whenever you come by so they learn that having you around leads to good things. Try not to touch them for about a week if you can, just take your time. Hope that helps.
well my guinea pigs wont let me touch them at all=[ once i try to touch them and my finger touches them they freak out rite away and start running away =[ how do i get them use to me so i can pet them
@kalVolleyball you might have to try not to touch it for a while and give it yummy treats when u do have to be around so see notices that u mean no harm. Sometimes its best to leave a piggy alone for a bit.
that was so great!! my guinea is so scared it bites! wat do i do?
I LOVE your videos!! Do you still have bettas?
hey nice video i hope my guinea pig gets tamed really fast
@TwilightFrosting Mine actually do not like it when I hold them either and when they figure out I want to they run away as well. Assuming you have a cage you can place it on the ground and make a small area around it…open the door and they can go in and out on their own. This way if they are scared they will learn to run to their cage so u dont have to catch them. You can make the area bigger with time. This works for me..my girls just run in the closet on their own if they are scared.
Hi,my guinea pigs will eat out of my hands but won’t let me touch them for their little lives… they’ll run as fast as their legs will carry them. Since I can’t pick them up out of their cages, they haven’t had a chance to have floor time, which i’m worried about. What should I do?
thanks very much i’m just a starter and i really need info to make sure my guinea pig is all right and not to be scared of me
cute hair do’s!
what did you used in making of your intro
@TheAtalpande well you can slowly try to pet them while you give them vegetables. Other then that be very patient. There is not much more I can think of other then to take your time. If you don’t have to, try not to hold them yet as it can scare them.
Thankyou very very much.I have started feeding them vegetables from my hand. What should i do next?THANKS
@TheAtalpande Do you feed them vegetables from your hands everyday? That will help. Also don’t make sudden movements and loud noises. Be very calm and patient as it takes time to tame guinea pigs.
@CreativePetKeeping I also have my guinea pig from almost two months.plz help
@TheAtalpande How long did you have your guinea pig? It took me too months to tame mine.
please give me some more help and tips for taming.I find it so difficult to get my guinea pig used to me.plz help
@XSarenkaX Thank you, I will try and take your advice. I hope to get better with time.
I love the closet pen – great idea. The piggies look so excited to see you, too. Obviously you practice what you preach.
I have one small narration tip: relax and try to talk slower. You seem a bit rushed, especially at the start. Try to practice and pretend you’re talking to a person instead of a camera.
Keep up the great work! I love watching these clips.
@ExtraordinaryxEmilyx Ive actually never been bitten by any of the girls. Th most they do is push me away with their head
How cute, at 2:31, the guinea pig turned his head around to your hand. Is this a sign for biting? My guinea pig always does this and i pull away incase he nips me. 5 stars. As always.
As always, your videos are very well done! Graphics and music work very well together! MOP FOREVER!!!!
Thank you
Very nice video and your editing with the voice and all are very clear! I love your piggies!
I do the same with sitting in their cage since mine also sits on the floor
